Charlene, New York - February, 1968

Charlene was our upstairs neighbor in the East Village. She had a dog named Brandy which Annie and I eventually inherited. I never did like Brandy (and I love animals)...always barking... at nothing.

1974 was the last time I saw Charlene. She had just broken up with "Naga" and returned to the US. from Afghanistan. I guess Charlene was vulnerable and needed a close friend. We spent a warm and most memorable evening together. Thank you God.
